The Beetrace school children gave a short entertainment to a small but appreciative audience Wednesday afternoon. After they had recited and sang, they were given a treat of candy after which they were dismissed until Friday on account of Xmas.

A part of the Beetrace school kids with their teacher Mr. Jay Leonard attended the Christmas tree at the Grimes School house Friday afternoon, those who went were Orpha Higginbotham, Ellen Murdy, Johnie Stober, Justin Leonard and Wendell Murdy.

Several of the Beetrace School gathered at the school house Friday and listened to a splendid program by Prof. Patterson and the pupils. After the program they distributed presents from Christmas tree and all enjoyed eating pop corn and candy.
The Beetrace school had a program and Christmas tree Friday afternoon. Those visiting were: Mr. and Mrs. Frank Stober, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Fox, Mr. and Mrs. Kirt Fox, Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Higinbotham and daughters Laura and Orpha, Mr. and Mrs. Jay Leonard, Mrs. W.V. Murdy, Mrs. Verge Staley, Mrs. J.O. Patterson and Glenn Patterson.

At the Beetrace school in Washington Township with Lois Hanson as teacher, the pupils have been making booklets for hand work relating to the children across the sea. They are using the poster patterns from the normal instructor and the coloring and mounting has been a great pleasure to them.
On February 13th the school debated the old Washington-Lincoln question and the vote of the school was in favor of the Washington side of the question.
This school recently issued "The Beetrace News" which gave news of the school and community

Beetrace School Notes
Georgia Linden, Teacher
Junior Hornaday and Delmar Seibert won the spelling prizes last six weeks. They received 100 per cent every day.
Miss Ruth Foxx visited our school Friday afternoon.
We make booklets in drawing and wrote stories in them about Washington's life.
Richard Van Fossen and Milford Hornaday won the prizes in first grade reading came last six weeks.
Lloyd Davison, Elbert Mullin, Opal Houser, Hazel Seibert and Richard Davison have not been absent or tardy this year.
Our picture of Washington that we received is very nice. We have had it framed.
We arranged our sand table to represent Washington and his army at Valley Forge.
We gave a Washington Bicentennial program Monday afternoon. It consisted of recitations, dialogue, readings, songs and saluting the flag.
Miss Ruth Foxx and Mrs. Esthel House visited school Monday afternoon. We are always glad to have visitors.
Wallace and Richard Van Forsen are leaving our school. They are moving near Sheffield, Iowa. We regret that they are leaving us but wish them success in their new home.

Beetrace School is Scene of Program
A splendid program was presented at the Beetrace school house, Monday evening.
The entertainment consisted of several musical numbers both vocal and instrumental, recitations and dialogues presented by the school; a 3-act play entitled "Two Days to Marry", which was cleverly presented by a group of people from the Roundy community. The characters in the comedy were: Clifford Singley, Mr. and Mrs. Merlo Norton, Wm. Hutchinson, Dorothy Hanson and Maxine and Milton Childs. The teacher, Miss Georgia Linden, and pupils appreciated the co-operation of every one in presenting the program which was heartily enjoyed by every one present.
